Measuring belts and pet collars

There's nothing worse that ordering a special new belt or custom collar, and discovering it doesn't fit when you open the package. You can help us make sure you're thrilled with your new leather goods by providing accurate measurements when you're ordering custom items from us.

Here's what we'll need to know:

Size/dimensions, in inches or centimeters. Some standard sizes are shown below.

Colors are hard to describe, especially over text! If there's a belt that's close to the right shade, that can be a starting point.

Weight/thickness is important too. Want a dress belt, or something to support your concealed carry or duty equipment?

Dog Collars

Size Typical Dog Weight Neck Sizes
Extra Small 5-10 pounds 8-12 inches
Small 10-25 pounds 10-14 inches
Medium Up to 50 pounds 14-20 inches
Large Up to 75 pounds 16-26 inches
Extra Large 75+ pounds 24-30 inches

How to measure collars

Using a flexible cloth measuring tape (leave your woodworking tape in the shop, please!), measure the size of your dogs neck midway between the top of the shoulders and the bottom of the jawline. The tape should be snug but not tight - we'll add the right length to allow two fingers under the collar when it's buckled onto your furry friend.

Belts

The easiest way to get your new belt sized correctly is to start with your favorite belt. Lay it out on a clean, flat surface, and measure from the end of the belt, where it folds over the buckle, to the hole you usually use.

If you don't have a favorite belt, a good starting place is to take your favorite pants and add two inches (2") to the size.

All belts will have five holes, spaced one inch apart, centered at the length you provide. Basic and embossed belts can be returned for replacement, but we don't allow refunds or returns on custom and personalized belts, so please measure carefully.
